About the event

Our 2025 kick-off event begins with LBWSA member Marie Rogers, US Sailing Director and TransPac veteran, and the first Black woman to become Commorode of the Los Angeles Yacht Club. The Magenta Project mission is to develop pathways and support opportunities for women in performance sailing. The Magenta project, among many activities, mentor's women like Cole Brauer, who many of us watched during the Global Solo Challenge as she set and broke records in the sport. TheMagentaProject.org Following the presentation, we will officially elect our 2025 Board!

It's also Taco Tuesday at the Seal Beach Yacht Club and they have graciously extended LBWSA an invitation to join them. Folks who RSVP will receive reservation information for dinner.
